What’s expected from you

Binding Process Overview

  • On the Agentero paltform, you will quote and request to bind.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation email and a follow up email from our team to verify coverages and discounts and to collect payment information.

Requirements

  • An active license in the state you want to bind.
  • An active Errors and Omissions policy covering the risk you want to bind.

The Agentero team will be in contact with you regularly during the process, so we encourage you to check your emails to help us move things faster. It should take less than 24 hours to bind.

Getting a quote

Before sharing the quote, we ask you to check the carrier’s underwriting guidelines.

If any of the knockouts apply to the risk you are quoting, please do NOT request to bind.

If none of the knockout conditions apply to your risk, your client likes the quote, and the client wants to get the policy bound... It’s time to click the Bind Request button!

Underwriting guidelines

Your client may qualify for discounts that are not accounted for within the rater. Please be sure to review the potential discounts with the applicable carrier below, gather any required proof, and provide us that information as you request to bind.

Policies can be set up on direct bill, automatic monthly payments, or paid in full (PIF). Our carriers will accept:

Payment options

Any of the information listed below may be required by underwriting team at any point during the binding process. Please obtain all that apply for your risk, client, and carrier.

Binding requirements

  • Accurate effective date
  • Recent photos of the dwelling and any additional structures on the property.
  • Method of payment
    - Down payment or payment in full (down payment form will be required).
    - EFT Form or Recurring CC Form (required for recurring payments).
    - Mortgage bill (Mortgagee clause, including loan number).
  • The client’s email address and phone number.
  • Previous address (when length of time at address is less than 3 years.)
  • Proof of safety features (eg Central Fire and Burglar Alarms, Sprinklers, Water detections, smart home systems, etc).

While there are many endorsements available to your client, and you may ask to review any available endorsements when requesting to bind, below is a list of Common endorsements you should discuss with your client:

So, you clicked that Bind with Agentero button, now what?

What happens if I request a bind?

  • A chat will prompt in your bottom left where you need to provide us two final answers: your client’s name and if any discounts are required. If you don’t reply to the chat in 20 minutes, we’ll email you. You need to reply to either of them so we can continue with your quote.
  • Our team will not start reviewing your quote if you don't reply.
  • After you reply, our team will contact you to review coverages, confirm underwriting information, add any additional discounts available, collect payment information, and get that policy issued.
  • When we contact you via phone, we’ll confirm the client’s name and the name of the carrier.
  • Next, we’ll confirm additional guidelines ensuring the risk fits the carrier’s underwriting guidelines, coverage, the effective date, total premium amount, payment option, and payment method.
  • Lastly, we’ll collect and input the payment information and issue the policy!

How does the policy get bound in the carrier site?

To start a quote, visit the Agentero portal and click “Get Quotes”

To bind a quote proposal, simply click "Bind with Agentero"


You can also see the quote proposal but this is not the finalized quote. We advise NOT to share this quote with your client because reports have not been run.

Please make sure you gather the method of payment from your client prior to requesting binding.

We do not accept Cash, Checks, Cashiers checks, Money orders or any form of non-digital funds.

You can retrieve your quote at any time by going to the "Quotes" tab, which you can find on the left navigation bar.


Retrieving a Quote

On the Quotes tab, you can see all your quotes, click on an individual quote to see or share it, or click the 3 vertical dots next to the quote where you can request to "Bind with Agentero."



After clicking on Bind with Agentero, you will be connected to our live chat and our underwriter will then finalize the quote. If you don’t reply to the live chat within 20 minutes, we will follow up with you via email.

Post-bind

Commissions are paid the last week of the following month of the effective date. These will be deposited directly in to your bank account. For details on the commission rate, please review THIS ARTICLE.



  • The client will get policy information from the carrier, and we’ll also email you once the policy is bound with documentation you can forward to your insured.

How does my client get documents after the policy is bound?

  • If the policy is set up on E signature, the policy documents will be sent via email from the carrier. If the client does not have an email address, we will attach all policy documents via chat or email and you will need to obtain the wet signature from the client and send the application to the carrier.

How do we obtain the carrier-required signed applications from the insured?

  • If your client requires service, please collect the necessary information from your client. Then, reach out to us at service@agentero.com with a detailed change request.
  • Most carriers can process claims directly on a mobile app, website, or phone. Visit the respective carrier page in the portal for claims contact information

How are post-bind services (like claims and endorsements) handled?

  • Policies will automatically renew with carriers if the client remains eligible. If for any reason, a policy is not set to renew, or the client informs us they wish to move or cancel their policy, we will inform you and allow you to decide how to should proceed.

How are policy renewals handled?

What are the commissions and how are they paid?

  • Your insureds will work with you to get their policy quoted and bound.
  • Your clients will work with you for servicing needs, and you'll communicate those needs to our team.
